Industrial Deafness

If you have been repeatedly exposed to loud noise without adequate hearing protection your hearing may have been permanently damaged.  If you develop a noise induced hearing loss you may be able to make a claim for compensation.

You might find it difficult to make out speech particularly if there is a lot of background noise, or be unable to join in group conversations. You may not be able to hear a whisper and loud noises may become painful. Perhaps you have difficulty hearing the telephone or have to turn up the volume on the television.

Excessive noise can also result in a condition called tinnitus which is a ringing, buzzing or whining noise in the ears.

Often people do not notice a particular problem with their hearing until several years after they stopped working in a noisy environment. This is because hearing tends to gradually worsen as we get older. If you think that you may have hearing loss caused by a job you did, we can arrange a hearing test for you.

If you have been diagnosed with industrial deafness (often called Noise Induced Hearing Loss), Sunderland Personal Injury Solicitors  Treanors can help with your  deafness compensation claim.
